About

Welcome to Natura Eclectica — my blog about all things wild and Australian, both living and extinct.

I am a vertebrate palaeontologist by training, so I’ll be writing a lot about the bones and fossils I encounter in my daily life.

But I am also fascinated with the world of the living. I love birds in particular, but I’m not fussy. If it’s alive, I’m interested! And I just might write about it.

Hopefully that enthusiasm for natural history is infectious (like the Plague, but with a lower mortality rate). I look forward to sharing with you the sights, sounds and science that I am privileged to experience every day — in labs, museums and the great outdoors.

Thanks for reading — and if there is something you’d particularly like me to write about, get in touch!
